Hash-First Card Identification
Identify trading cards from SlabIQ's own image fingerprints first, and call the AI only when a fingerprint can't settle the card, so results are faster, cheaper and consistent.

Overview
SlabIQ fingerprints catalog images and compares each scan against them before it involves the AI. Fingerprint matching now refuses to auto-attach when a look-alike printing of the same card is close, or when the index for that game is outdated or incomplete. In those cases it keeps the candidates for you to choose from instead of guessing. A per-game strict mode, which never calls the AI and holds uncertain cards for your choice, and a new local match engine are built and switched off while they are measured. Sports cards are not yet fingerprinted.
Completed work
- Fingerprint near misses kept as suggestions instead of being discarded (Aug 16)
- Exact-fingerprint shortcut made safe, and lookups faster (Oct 9)
- Look-alike printings of the same card block automatic attachment; a 655-scan replay showed 0 wrong attachments (Oct 13)
- Matching refuses to attach from an outdated or incomplete index, and AI-off batches keep their candidates
- Per-game strict routing, with held cards needing a seller's choice before Ready (built, off)
- Local match engine with visual verification and a printing prior (built, off)
