Scan & Identify V2
A rebuilt identification engine that reads a card field by field and checks every value against the card and the catalog. It refuses guesses such as misread serial numbers, wrong years, or team names posing as parallels.

Overview
Scan & Identify V2 separates what the AI sees on a card from what SlabIQ decides the card is. Year, set, card number, parallel and serial numbering are each validated and get their own confidence, and catalog candidates are searched within the right year. On a 111-card baseball regression batch it removed every false serial-number and false parallel reading and raised correct years from 25 to 105. Some accuracy guards already apply to every scan. The engine itself is being rolled out one card family at a time.
Completed work
- Guards that apply to every scan: back-of-card print marks are no longer read as serial numbers, and condition codes show as readable labels in titles, descriptions and templates
- V2 engine with field-by-field validation, year-scoped catalog search and a confidence level for each field
- A regression harness built on a real 111-card batch, plus an admin scan diagnostics page
- A per-family rollout switch (off, shadow, live)
