Faster Catalog Search
Keeping catalog search and large checklists fast as the catalog grows to millions of cards.

Overview
The catalog has grown from about 580,000 to well over two million card records. Name search checks the fast start-of-name match first and widens only when needed, card numbers sort naturally on the server, and heavy counts are precomputed instead of calculated on every page load. Search that matches text anywhere in a name still needs database support that isn't in place yet.
Completed work
- Name search tries the fast start-of-name match first
- Card numbers sort naturally on the server instead of in the browser
- Category and sport counts are precomputed so pages don't wait on them
- Card search within a sport
